I can't add new tags to my posts

    I read the Help entry about adding tags to a post, but none of the screenshots in the document look anything like what I see when I go to create a new post, so I am a little bit lost. If I go into the ‘Tags’ field when I’m composing a post and try to just type something in, it’s in italics and it doesn’t really work. And if I go to my dashboard, there is no ‘Tags’ entry under the ‘Posts’ menu.

    Seems like you’re using the new dashboard.

    When you’re writing a new post, click on the Tags & Categories section on the left hand side and enter your desired tags there.

    As you’re typing, pressing enter key will add that tag, or alternatively you can also click on “add xyz…” button that shows up once you start typing.

    The help document on tags shows you the previous WP Admin area of your blog, which you can open by going to the Dashboard > WP Admin. The new version is designed to be easier.
