I can’t center anything on pages

I’m just trying to center headings (not stylized) just bold, but nothing happens when I hit the center button. I’ve been having to edit it in source HTML, just for centering. Left align works, right does not. This has been going on for a number of days, perhaps a week, and while annoying it doesn’t prevent me from writing.
On a side note, the only reason I detest, and do not use the improved wordpress page editor is because it deletes empty lines when you switch over from source and back (and that I don’t really see any improvements). Since I have been switching to source just for centering, I have been forced into WP admin, which I see works just as well if not better.

My Chrome is up to date
I have both Javascript and cookies enabled
I do have an adblocker, but I have tested, and this does not effect it.I cleared my cache, and my cookies, this did not effect it.
I’m using Chrome 66.0.3359.181
I just checked and this problem strangely does not persist in incognito, so it has to be a problem with my browser, but after clearing everything, it still persists, so I have no idea what could be causing it.

Oh right, I’m using an Intel Inspiron 15 7000 gaming, but this problem did not start when I got this computer, I’ve been using it for a long while- over a year perhaps- and the problem only popped up around a week ago.

So just to clarify, you’re unable to center regular, bold text, typed on its own line, using the Center button in the visual editor toolbar? I’m not able to replicate this on a test site – clicking that button immediately centers the text for me, in both the My Site and WP-Admin editors. Can you please give a link to a specific post/page (or the title of a draft post) where this is happening?
The fact that it only happens in incognito can also point to a browser add-on being the culprit. Some ad-blocker and privacy add ons work by just blanket-blocking certain types of code on a page, and that can prevent some features from working correctly. And if one of them recently updated that might explain the timing.
Try disabling all add-ons and see if that makes a difference. Then reactivate them one at a time to narrow down which one is the cause.
