I can't change my username

  Hi,
  my current username is “mypamp”. I want to rename it to “pampurio97”. It doesn’t work because it says “pampurio97” is already registered. It is probably because that account was mine (registered with another email address) and I deleted it some time ago.
  Why can’t I change the username to a new one I deleted, so it doesn’t exist anymore?

  Hi there. WordPress.com username accounts are never deleted, so if you registered that username with a different email address it probably still exists and you won’t be able to register it or change your current name to it. You’ll need to fill out the account recovery form to regain access to that account if you no longer have the login details. I’m afraid there’s no other way to do this: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
