I can't comment on other blogs

  I can’t comment or ‘like’ on other people’s blogs (90% of the time). On some blogs when I try to post my comment, it says something like “login to post your comment” or nothing happens.

  The same when I try to ‘like’ other bloggers’ posts. This has been going on for about a week now.

  I found a comment in one of the forum posts, which said to contact Akismet so

  I did contact Akismet, who said they’ve checked that my comments aren’t going into spam. They’ve said to contact you as it might be something my site is doing/not doing.

  Help, it’s driving me mad. I’m losing followers as I’m not engaging with them on their blogs :(

  Good Morning –

  There’s nothing on the account that I can see which would prevent this from working.

  Can you please share a couple of examples where you’ve been unable to like or comment a post?

  Share links in your reply.

  Another consideration might be a browser issue. Which type and version are you using? Check if it needs an update https://browsehappy.com/ and understand you need to be signed in to your WordPress.com account in order to like + comment.

  Yeah, I am not having issues with commenting through Chrome on my end which makes me believe it may be a cache issue. Have you tried logging in using a different browser to comment or clearing your browser’s cache?

  Hi and thank you for your response yesterday. I have cleared my cache (which took forever lol) but still can’t like or comment?

  I changed the name of my blog the other day? Might that have something to do with it? I did something called mapping and as I’m a real technophobe, maybe I did something wrong?

  I hope whatever it is can be fixed – it’s my lifeline as I’m disabled – aaarrgghhh.

  I don’t know what else to do. Sorry for being a pain.

  Yeah mapping wouldn’t cause this, but we’re glad to hear the cache was the issue! Here’s a link for anyone who comes across this and is not sure how to clear their cache:
