I can't copy?paste URL for Image

I want to put my own image in the image widget on my blog. But It won’t let me copy and paste from my media gallery. Do I have to have a URL? Can’t I just upload? It’s my own images, my own artwork. I really want to start blogging, but I can’t figure out the setup.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you are in your visual editor (the simplest way to do this until you’ve blogged a bit, unless you’re really comfy with html already), click on the little “image” icon. That’s the first little icon after the “upload/insert” at the top of the editing box.
After you click that, choose the tab that says “Media Library” (provided you’ve uploaded the image already). Choose the image that you want to insert, and click “show.” At that point, you can pick a layout (e.g., centering) and add a link to it if you want a visitor to be able to click on the image and be taken elsewhere.
If you haven’t uploaded the image to the Media Library already, you can do that after clicking the upload/insert icon. Simply pick the option “From computer,” and then follow the screens that come up after that.

Thanks. Is that a video? Just want to know, I’ve been getting a lot of “error” messages on things. I’m about fed up. I’ve made a third forum post on that. I’ll keep the link. I’m sorry to be so whiney, but I son’t like feeling stupid.

Being frustrated isn’t good.
There is some flash video with the tutorial, I believe.
If you’ve been having a lot of errors, you may want to clear your cache, then log out of your browser & log back in. That often helps. Also, be sure that your browser is up-to-date (http://browsehappy.com). You may want to try a different browser, as well. (But after you’ve had some time to become un-frustrated!)
Firefox works particularly well with wordpress.com, and I’ve found that Opera works well, too.

Thanks, I’ll leave this open. I don’t want anyone to be mad at me for complaining so much. I may take a break for a while. As for browsers, I like Google Chrome because there’s no pesky toolbars to block my screen. I may try to clear the cache again, but I always end up having to start everything over after I do. Thanks for the advice.

You’re welcome.
You can strip down Firefox so that there are fewer/no toolbars, and if you are running Win7, everything in the usual menu bar drops down from a single orange button at the top of the screen, so you can make Firefox quite clean-looking.
Opera’s also quite flexible in how you set it up.
In any case, you should probably try clearing your cache & logging out then logging back in, but after you’ve had a break from it.

Thanks, I have Windows XP pro, to be exact. I’ll stick with Chrome for now. I will clear my cache, though. I’ll also look at the tutorials you suggested. Thanks again. BTW, I love your avatar.

Yes, the tutorials will help a lot. They’ll also help you be able to frame your question clearly when you do have a problem in the future — though hopefully, you won’t!

BTW, by right-clicking on the menu bar in Firefox, even in WinXP, you can get rid of the Menu Bar. I couldn’t live w/o my nav bar, but that can also be eliminated, if you like!
