I can’t customize my background !

Everytime I try to customize colours and backgrounds via the twenty sixteen template–> choose default and change the outer edges to white and press publish, as soon as I return to my main page the changes haven’t been saved! Am I doing something wrong? Please help a girl out :-)

Unfortunately it didn’t help! everything else saves automatically except when I try to change the “colors and backgrounds”.I really hope you can help me sort it out.

I tried changing the border color via the Customizer now, and it looks like it saved. Can you confirm on your end?
Do you have any add-ons installed in your browser? I wonder if one of those might be interfering with the code that causes the change to happen when you try to save. Perhaps check if it works if you log into your account using an incognito window in Chrome, or if you use a completely different browser.

I think it saved what you changed, but as soon as I tried editing it changed it back to the original again. I’ve tried incognito, windows and chrome and nothing seems to be doing the trick. I’ve restarted the computer and cleared all browser history.
Would you be able to change it permanently for me ? colours/backgrounds–> default–> and choose grey/beige outer edge. (so the background is white, archives blue and outer edge beige/grey).

I’ve changed the border colour through the Customiser.
I think it saved what you changed, but as soon as I tried editing it changed it back to the original again.
Do you see the original colours in the preview or only when saving the change and viewing your site?
Does the same problem occur in another browser, such as Firefox?

I can see the border colour has been changed to white. But the background is still grey and the archives green. It allows me to change it when I’m editing/previewing, but as soon as I press publish and afterwards “visit site” then none of the changes have been saved.
I dont have firefox, but I have chrome and internet explorer and both browsers have the same problem.

Would you grab a screen shot of what you are seeing after clicking through My Sites – Customizer – Colors and Backgrounds.
Add that image to your media library and let me know once it’s been added. I want to compare what you are seeing at that point in the dashboard to what I see on my side. Maybe that will help us get things figured out here.
I’m happy to add the colors manually as well, but didn’t want to make any changes since I wasn’t 100% sure on what you wanted those options to be set for.
Earlier you mentioned that you had cleared the browser history… That’s not the same thing as clearing your cache. Did you also clear the cache and cookies?

I’ve now added the picture to media library. The picture is the one I see when I access colors and Backgrounds BEFORE I try to edit and the same layout that appears after I’ve tried editing and it fails to save my changes.
If you want I can send you a picture of what I want. As I managed to screenshot the desired layout colors in the preview before it deletes my changes.
Yes, sorry I meant my Cache and cookie history have been cleared as well. -
Would anyone be able just to customize my background for me? it’s not very complicated and I have a screenshot of what it should look like + instructions how to do it(depending if your background and colour page is set to what mine looks like atm)

Please do provide a screen shot of the changes applied as well, please, both before and after you click the Publish button in the Customizer.

I have just added a photo to the media library. The one from may 20th is how I want my background to look like, this is what I try and edit my page to. When I thereafter click publish, it returns to the old format (without saving changes) and looks like the picture from may 17th.
All you have to do is go to background and colours–> default–> change the black frame to a grey/white/beige one available in the suggestions and publish. That’s what I do at least and then when I press publish it doesn’t save the changes. But I hope it will save when you try!

I can make the changes for you, but if we don’t find the root cause of this and fix that you’ll find yourself back where you started each time you try to make further changes in the Customizer.
I asked for two screen shots, both before and after you click Publish in the Customizer. I also need to see the Customizer controls in the screen shot, not just the site preview section as in the new screen shot you uploaded, please.
I also need you to open the browser console in Chrome while you have the Customizer open. I want to check if it generates any errors when you try to save the changes – if it shows any errors, please also take screen shots of those.
