I can't delete an existing category

  Hi, can someone help me figure out how to delete an existing category? In the list of categories, the one i wanted to delete has no “delete” field (like “edit” or “quick edit”), nor does it have the “check” field. Really strange, don’t know how it became like this.

  This means it’s your default post category (the category a post will automatically be filed under if you don’t file it under a different category yourself). The default category cannot be deleted, so you must first go to Settings > Writing and set a different category as your default.
