I can't delete my account.

I can’t delete my account. I wish to start over and will use a different email address when I am better prepared. Currently WP requires me to log in with my email prior to posting a comment on another WP hosted site. This is not acceptable to me.
The difficulty with regards to this deleting of an account is beginning to raise my alarm
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This setting is controlled by each individual blogger and has nothing to do with whether you have a WordPress.com account or not. The only way you’ll not be required to insert an email address is if the blogger in question has disabled that setting. However, you can insert any email address you own – you don’t have to use the email connected to your WordPress.com account.
I can’t delete my account.
You cannot delete your wordpress.com username account. This is for security reasons so others cannot claim your username and impersonate you. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
The only details you were required to provide when signing up for your account was an email address. WordPress.com will never send you spam to that email address and also won’t sell it to third parties, as clearly stated in their privacy policy.
If you change that email to a throwaway address there will be no way your account could ever be linked to you. Any other details that you added yourself, you also have the power to delete yourself. See timethief’s instructions in this post on how to do that: http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2012/06/02/deleting-accounts-blogs-and-content/

WP has hijacked my email address. If I can’t be released from what appears to be a coming nightmare I will go on an advertising agenda to promote WP in a less than appealing manner for WP. I want to escape your reach now.
-
I don’t get what your issue is. You replace your existing email address with a throwaway address and that’s it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
-
I haven’t established a throwaway email address at this point. I just want to delete my account. It require that I log in to comment on other WP hosted sites.
-
Go to Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo, register another email (takes five minutes), and either use that email for commenting, or transfer your WordPress.com account to that email and forget about it. Just make sure you have a very strong password for both your WordPress account and the new email account.
-
I want to simply delete my current email account with WP. It makes no sense to begin creating bogus email accounts when I’ve had this one for a long time. I did not agree to have you hijack my email account. Simply delete the account and as stated in your terms/conditions elsewhere and I realize that the email and name will forever be deleted and can’t be recovered.
I really don’t have time for this nonsense.

That is no going to happen. Read this please http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

While viewing the forums trying to find a solution to this bizarre issue I noticed that WP has in fact previously deleted accounts.
You seem to be going to extremes to make it appear that WP has more active/open account that is the case in reality.
I occasionally comment on one of WP most active blogs and if this issue can’t be resolved I will make it a point to inform those not yet ensnared by your scheme.

The relevant support doc is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/
Here’s how to deactivate your account:
Although username accounts are not deleted, so you cannot be impersonated and have your reputation affected by anyone registering the same username in the future, there are steps you can take that amount to removing all personal information and result in leaving only a throwaway email address behind. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.
2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html4. To hide your Gravatar profile, login and on the bottom right hand corner of your Gravatar profile page you will find a “hide” button visible only to you that you can click.

Just to be clear, the issue here is that you’re being forced to login to your WordPress.com account when you attempt to comment on a WordPress.com blog using your email address. Is that correct?
Even if you change your email address, that will not change. If you try to comment with an email address that is currently or has ever been used by a WordPress.com account, you will be asked to login. This is a step we take to prevent someone from using your identity (since email addresses are linked to Gravatar accounts).

There should be a legal alternative to your actions. If I locate one there will be no turning back. Timethief , is that a game you play?

I am a paralegal and I am clear on the fact uttering threats of any kind in any democracy is a criminal offence. I suggest you stop that right now.
-
That was no threat. However your reply, if you could call it that, seems to be a threat.
You need to pass this conversation to someone mature.

Hi,
As this thread has been answered and the conversation seems to be moving off-topic, I’m going to be closing this forum thread.
To recap, if you’re commenting with an email address that is either currently associated with a WordPress.com account or has been associated with an account in the past, you will be asked to login to your account. There isn’t a way around this at the moment.
