I can't edit tags, there's copy there from a previous post that I can't delete
-
When I go to add tags, while my document is still a draft, there is already text in the tags box. I can’t remove it. I have tried highlighting the tag and hitting the delete key. Nothing works. What”s more, the text is t is from the published copy of a previous post.
Equally confusing, I checked the help section on tags and it shows an entirely different configuration from what I see.
In the help section, tags are shown as being entered in a box in the lower right portion of the screen. In my case, the place to enter tags is to the left of my draft. All I know is that when I type in a tag that shows up in in the tags box it shows a blue-ish background and I can delete it. However, when I highlight this other text that is in the tags box and IT turns blue, I can’t delete it. What’s going on?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Nope. Nothing. Weird. I’ve never used tags before in my blogs and today when i went to put some in, there’s the entire text of previous blog. Weird.

Mine just gives me the option of all the tags I’ve used in previous blogs, but won’t let me do any new ones .

Well, even though I couldn’t get rid of what was there from past blogs, I did put it the tags in that I wanted for this blog. And they did go in as i called for them to…

I tried again this morning and still can’t put in any tags original to my new blog post. How frustrating.

On the dashboard of your own blog at

If you have cookies enabled on your browser your preference will be saved unless or until your clear your cookies, and it will take you to the classic editor automatically every time you create a new post via the drop-down menu in the black admin bar or edit a post via the edit button on the blog itself.Mar 18, 2015, 10:29 AM
The Classic Editor will continue to exist in wp-admin. We know some users prefer to use this editor, so we want you to have access to it, instead of phasing it out with the new version of the Dashboard. However, a link to the Classic Editor will not return to the New Editor. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/when-editing-an-old-post-how-do-i-switch-to-the-classic-editor?replies=5Recent updates

- It’s now possible to use a year, or any other number as a category or tag in the new editor.
- Your 100 most used tags and categories are loaded, then the first 20 are displayed alphabetically. Starting to type a category/tag name pulls up all the matching options.
