I can’t figure out how to add a drop down menu on a product page that does stuff.

I sell electronics. These electronics are ‘$10,’ and list correctly on the product page. However, I have accessories, plugs, and bundle options I’d like to offer to customers.
So… On the right side of the product image and maybe just under the price, I WOULD LIKE to have 3 options that say ‘Accessories,’ ‘adapters,’ and ‘bundles.’ If you were to click on one, it creates a drop down menu WITH thumbnails of the accessories and a small description and a price addition. If selected, I need it to reflect a price change.

This is NOT the same as the mega menu. I have no idea how to set this up or even the terminology involved as I have been searching for tutorials on this for 2 days with no success.

    Hi aetasxblog

Here is the support document that will help you in creating the drop down menus for your site:

    Menus

    Hope this helps.

That link only discusses the menus associated with navigation. I need to be able to make a drop down “menu” that is a part of my product, allowing a customer to click on it, select several options, and have that apply to the product when they put it into their shopping cart. I also need to see the price change reflected.

The link you sent doesn’t seem to have anything like this, but if I glanced over it, can you point me to the correct section?

I think the area I should be looking at is the attributes section. I can add attributes, but they show up as text next to the “label” of the attribute. I am not able to allow a selection, associate a thumbnail image to a selection, or even select anything which should change the price of the selling product.

Maybe “attributes” is what I should be saying.

    Hi

Can you give us the site URL you need help with?

Sorry, it isn’t live. I’m using a localhost to just practice. The product and site will be real once I get everything figured out. It is a friend’s product and he doesn’t want me showing it yet. I think he may have a patent pending or something.

Here is a screen shot of my product page. http://i63.tinypic.com/oaqam8.jpg

The “Additional Information” is where my attributes go. I’m trying to get those attributes to change upon selection. Or maybe this isn’t where I create something like this?

So digging some more, this is the closest I can find to what I’m trying to do.

The problem I have is that when I select “Add Variation,” it defaults to every single attribute combined into 1 variation. This of course does not work since I have several attributes that don’t apply to some products.

If I click “Create variations from all attributes,” it creates a bunch of variations with the exact same results as “Add Variation.”

Is there a way to manually input this so that I can add a price value for some attributes, and no price change for others?

Also, is there a way to give a default price when using variable product? I can only get it to be “$0” unless a variation is selected.

Or is there a way for me to add 1 attribute as 1 variation at a time?
