I cant find custom fields

  I want to use “The Columnist” theme and I’m not getting the thumbnails showing. I beleive I need to do it with ‘Custom Fields’ – I cant find custom fields – it should be in screen options but its not.

  WordPress.com does not support custom fields. Custom fields are only supported on self-hosted wordpress sites hosted on third-party hosting services (godaddy, bluehost, etc.) using the software from wordpress.ORG.
