I can’t find it
-
Hello! I have a WordPress blog hosted through bluehost. It is up to date on bluehost, but when I come to WordPress to edit it, I don’t have access to it anymore. It is on my ‘global dashboard’ as a linked blog, but I don’t have the ability to see it and change it anymore. Can you help me with this?

Hi there!
I had a look at your Jetpack connection, and it seems that there’s an issue with the A records on your domain.
If you’ve just registered or transferred your domain, give it 48h and check again. If it still doesn’t work, you’ll want to reach out to your web hosting provider. For more information about Jetpack issues, you can post directly to their support forums at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack/. They may be able to give you more details.

So I found out that the hosting on my Bluehost had expired. They deleted all of the content. Which makes sense why I can’t find anything now. I renewed it but everything was gone. However, is any of that stuff still in WordPress where I generated all of the content? Even just the raw files? Also, http://www.theeverydaysimple.com is still listed as a “linked blog” and I have no access to it through wordpress. How do I get into it?

Your site was not hosted with WordPress.com. It was a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Bluehost.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
And, since the site was also not using our backup product https://jetpack.com/upgrade/backup/ we aren’t able to recover anything for this.
If Bluehost does not have any backups of your account with them, your next best option would be to copy/paste content from an archived copy, like https://web.archive.org/web/20200727000948/http://www.theeverydaysimple.com/

Unless you had a backup solution previously, I’m afraid that your content may be lost. :(
The snapshot that’s on WordPress.com is only that – it’s not a backup that you can use to restore your site – and it’s updated with your site’s current content status when connected through the Jetpack plugin. If there’s no communication between your site and WordPress.com, that content is eventually purged.
Have you asked Bluehost if they still have a backup of your site somewhere? They would be the best option you have at the moment and I’m not sure if they could recover it for a fee.
Otherwise you might be able to recover some of your content through the Internet Archive Wayback Machine – it doesn’t always have images when the original site no longer exists, but the post content should be there. Then you can use that to recreate those posts on your new site once you reinstall WordPress.
Once you get things back up and running, you should consider finding a backup solution just in case something like this happens again. You can get backups and security scanning through the Jetpack plugin, or, if you decide to move hosts after this, hosting your site here at WordPress.com we include backups of your site so you’d never be at risk of losing your content again. Happy to answer any questions you may have about that if you’re interested.
Sorry we couldn’t be more help here – but let us know if you have any questions and we’ll try to best advise. Best of luck!
