Hi there, I have a site that was previously http://www.alexhedleytravel.com , and i went to change the URL to http://www.alexhedleytravels.com, and it for some reason didn’t work, then it logged me out completely and now it says my account doesnt have a website, when i paid in december for a year subscription. it’s just gone from my radar. I tried to get the domain back but it said to pay. Im really worried i just lost all of my progress. I cant even visit the page because it automatically goes to alexhedleytravels.com now. I dont know what to do!

    Hi there!

Thanks for getting in touch – taking a look into your WordPress.com account, there doesn’t seem to be a record of alexhedleytravels.com or alexhedleytravel.com being registered to any of your sites.

However, it looks like the nameservers of alexhedleytravel.com are pointing to Bluehost, which is a self-hosting service. Does that sound familiar, or have you tried logging in over there to access your dashboard for that site?

Let us know, and if you have any other questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I’ve never logged in through Bluehost, and when I just tried it also says i don’t have an account.

I’ve always logged in under WordPress, but I think there was a question through Jetpack if it wanted me to delete jetpack because my page wasn’t responsive and when i hit yes it went away? i’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I don’t mid getting a new site at this point but all my blogs on there are something I don’t want to lose!

    Hi there!

I’ve never logged in through Bluehost, and when I just tried it also says i don’t have an account.I’ve always logged in under WordPress

I think you mean that you always log in through this link, correct? That’s still the self-hosted version of WordPress, also known as a WordPress.org site, and that site is hosted on Bluehost’s servers. You can check the domain’s WHOIS record here, and you’ll see it is pointing to Bluehost nameservers.

I understand this can be confusing, especially given the fact that you also have a WordPress.com account and a free site with us at https://alexhedleytravel.wordpress.com. But, as @geekinthegirl mentioned above, your actual site uses WordPress.org (which is different from what we have here) and is hosted by Bluehost.

Also, you definitely do have a Bluehost account. Even if you’re all set for now, you should figure out the login details for your Bluehost account. I suggest contacting Bluehost support along with the link to your site so that they can help you log into your account. If there are problems with the domain or hosting in the future, you may find yourself in trouble, as we won’t be able to help, and you would need to log into your Bluehost account.

    Regards
