I can no longer access my wordpress website using the usual login link which is leilaniwells.com/wp-admin. Right now it’s pointing to a new wordpress site instead of my original website. Hey there!
Let me explain a bit about the different versions of “WordPress” to make things clearer:
- The free, open-source WordPress software is what powers your website.
- WordPress.org is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software. Here, you can obtain the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
- WordPress.com is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software, and you’re currently contacting us through this platform.
Since your website is not hosted with us, our support is limited in terms of what we can assist you with. However, I can definitely guide you in the right direction to find help.
If your WordPress site is hosted with Funnelstream, I recommend reaching out to them. They hopefully still have access to your site’s files and are best suited to assist you with this matter.
I hope this information clears things up.

I have my WordPress.com account. I was able to access it however my website is no longer there. How can I access it please?
-
Hey there,
Are you referring to the WordPress.com account you’re communicating from?
It’s possible you would have had an account to the original site, and would have logged in via mysite.com/wp-admin – does this sound correct?
What was the URL of the site you were working with?
-
Hi,
Yes I am referring to my WordPress.com account. I opened it October 2017 which was also the date I first had my website. The thing is I don’t know what URL will I use to login to access my site because the domain that I had connected to it was released and no longer points to the site.
Also, on my wordpress account, when I go to my sites it has nothing. I can no longer find my website -
Hey there,
Also, on my wordpress account, when I go to my sites it has nothing. I can no longer find my website
The thing is I don’t know what URL will I use to login to access my site because the domain that I had connected to it was released and no longer points to the site.So the hosting wouldn’t be with WordPress.com – it would be with Funnel stream.
This site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. This is a bit different to a site hosted on WordPress.com. You can read about these differences here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
Funnel stream may have a temporary url the installation is housed under, but they would need to confirm this.
I hope this helps.

The thing is before I hosted my website in Funnel Stream, I used to log in to it using a URL given by WordPress. When I hosted it to Funnel stream I exported my site and uploaded it there. Until I decided to release the domain I used in funnel stream so I deleted that domain including the wordpress I imported in there. So now I am trying to access my website using the original url which I can’t remember.

This is my original website when searched in Google but after releasing the domain, I can no longer access the site. Can you please help me find this website of mine?

-
Hi there,
I think I understand what is going on here. So, as @aleone89 mentioned, your site is hosted with Funnel Streams. So, although your domain is hosted with Go Daddy, you will still need to contact Funnel Streams to retrieve your site content because the content is hosted with them, not Go Daddy. Did you download a backup file of your site when you canceled your account with Funnel Streams?
You were most likely accessing your site through http://leilaniwells.com/wp-admin, which you could no longer do if you let both your domain and site hosting expire.
If you saw your site under your WordPress.com account, it was because the site was connected via the Jetpack plugin. However, the site isn’t hosted with us, so we cannot provide any direct assistance in retrieving it.
Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks! -
So before I bought my domain and decided to host it with Funnelstream, when I first signed up with WordPress and built my website, what is the link that I used to access my website? That is what I’m trying to know. Thanks
-
Hi there,
Unless your site was hosted elsewhere before Funnelstreams, any links you used to set up and access your site were more than likely associated with them. You may have visited https://wordpress.org/download/ first, but the page recommends you to find a site host, so I take a link associated with your host that was used to initially access your site. -
That’s the thing, I can’t remember it and I was hoping WordPress can help me since my website with you guys.
-
Hello there,
So the login for the site would most likely be: https://leilaniwells.com/wp-admin/
WordPress.com wouldn’t have access to the account above, only yourself and Funnel Stream would.
Let’s take things step by step to get this back – can you tell me if you still have a Funnel Stream account?
Many thanks.
-
Yes, I do. https://leilaniwells.com/wp-admin/ does not work anymore because that domain was released when I deleted my WordPress in funnel stream. That is why I am asking for help figuring out what my URL is to access my WordPress account. Thank you
-
Hello there!!
Okay, great! Since you still have a Funnel Stream account, the best next steps is to reach out to their support team, and express to them that you would like to regain access to the site, although you are no longer pointing your domain to that site.
If at any time, you were seeing the site in your WordPress.com account, it would have been because you connected your WordPress.com account to the site, hosted at Funnel Stream, via Jetpack. With Jetpack’s connectivity features, available on WordPress sites that are not hosted here at WordPress.com, you would use your WordPress.com account login details to power Jetpack.
That being said, the site itself would have been hosted at Funnel Stream, so Funnel Stream is the contact to reach out to, for retrieving either the site content or access to the site, even though the domain is now disconnected from the site itself.
I hope this has been helpful, but feel free to reach out if you have any further questions!
