I cant find or get an API key? Can you send me mine?

  My blog is self hosted (it’s on a hosting company’s site and has my own domain name). I cant find my API key on My Profile or Personal settings, even though I’ve clicked through on the link that says get my API key. I am trying to use WP-Stats and other plugins that demand this. I dont have the original email that has this key. How do I get one? Do I need to create a fake blog on WordPress.com just to get the key even if I will never blog there?

  You can get an API key through Akismet.

  The WordPress.com-stats plugin isn’t being worked on any longer – we highly recommend that you use Jetpack for your stats. If you use the Jetpack plugin, you will need to connect to a WordPress.com account, though. You can sign up for one here. :)
