I can't follow blogs

I’ve been trying to follow some of my followers, but the follow button doesn’t work (it becomes green and changes to ‘following’, but as soon as I leave the page it reverts back). What can I do?

I would suggest you to clear browser cache. https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
Close the browser once you clear the cache. Open a new browser window and login.
Now, try following the blog.Let me know if the issue persists.
Also, please confirm if you were bulk following blogs?
If yes, how quickly were you following blogs? -
I followed your suggestions, but the issue still persists. I wasn’t bulk following blogs. Now I tried searching them on Reader and following them from there. Each time clicked follow I would first get “You’re now following XYZ”, and “Sorry, there was a problem following XYZ. Please try again.” soon after. Follow button on their blogs don’t work either.

I see that’s a strange behaviour. I’ll add modlook tag in sidebar for staff assistance. Staff will confirm the behaviour and will help you out with the same.

Hi there,
Have you perhaps been following people directly from New Follower notifications without viewing their sites first? Our system checks for that type of behaviour and automatically blocks it, as it’s usually spammers and bots who follow sites without even visiting them.
The Follow feature is intended to keep track of sites you want to read. It is not a way to say thank you for a follow or a way to get more followers to your own site. I’ve unblocked your account from following, but please use this feature as it was intended going forward, or you might get blocked again.
