Hi there,
You can find some helpful information about this theme here: Forever theme
Your home page will show your four latest posts, and below that it will show your latest post using the Quote or Status post format. At the very bottom of the page, it will show any widgets that you add under Appearance > Widgets in your dashboard. It looks like you have all of those features working, but please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
additionally i can’t figure out how to turn off the comment option in the posts.
There are two different settings for enabling/disabling comments. Under Settings > Discussion in your dashboard, you can disable comments for new posts that you make. However, that won’t change the comment settings on posts you already published.
For posts you already published, you can change the comment settings for all your posts at once by bulk editing them. We have instructions for how to do that here: Bulk Editing Comments
Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)

thanks so much. i hadn’t seen that bulk editing info for posts before — very helpful.
on the front page the post is appearing but it’s appearing twice! once with my gravatar and in a slightly different format. what’s going on with that?
thank you!

Hi there,
on the front page the post is appearing but it’s appearing twice! once with my gravatar and in a slightly different format. what’s going on with that?
Your front page shows your blog posts, with the latest four in the grid at the top and any remaining blog posts underneath it. (Sorry if that wasn’t clear when I described it before!) The first version of the post you see is from that list of recent blog posts. The second version of the post, with your Gravatar next to it, is the version that your theme displays for your most recent Quote or Status post.
You can see how that looks with more blog posts on the Forever demo site here: http://foreverdemo.wordpress.com/
I hope that helps clarify it — please let me know if you have any other questions. :)

thanks so much — i made the post standard instead of a quote and it now only appears once. thank you!!
