I cant get my 'child' categories to be shown as a drop down list

  I cant get my ‘child’ categories to be shown as a drop down list, how do i do this?

  Use a Custom Menu or a theme that has this built in.

  a) What child categories? You only have one published post, filed under one category.
  b) Once you publish more posts, go to Appearance > Widgets, open the Categories widget, check the option “Show hierarchy”, click Save.
