There is a widget that pops up in my blogs posts that I can’t find **ANYWHERE** in the customizing menus or controls so I can remove it. So basically readers see this ‘Test Widget’ on every post I write. Help, please????
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
That little widget was hiding ;) I’ve removed it.
What I did was click on My Sites > Customize > Widgets >
Then I clicked on one of the pages from the menu and selected the blue pen icon next to the widget to edit it. Select Remove.Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Wait a minute, there may be something else. I seem to have lost a “home” key for the main header menu. I don’t know if I did something wrong, or if that was never there. I can’t seem to figure out a way in the customizer to add it. ??

Good Morning –
There’s not a page titled “Home” on this site. You can check that at My Sites > Pages
To customize your menu you’ll click on My Sites < Customize < Menu
Here you can arrange the order and add/delete menu items. If you want to add a Home page you’d need to create the page first and then add it in to the menu second. This is not something that you “need”.
Right now, you’re front page, which is the page your visitors will always see first, is set to display your posts. You do not need to keep it that way. If you want to create a Home page with a static message on it you could do that and then assign your posts to publish on a different page. I’ll help you with that, just let me know if that sounds like something you’re interested in.

Hi, lizkarkoski, and thanks for the response.
I’ve been looking all this over since I first pulled up the blog to create, I looked at the link you provided, and I appreciate the info.
What I want to do specifically is this — I want a “home” option on the main menu, so when readers are reading a post, the can click on it and get back to the first screen they get when they first access my page by its title.
As it is right now, whenever anyone is reading a page or a blog post, the only options they have are clicking on another page or another blog post. They can’t get back to the main front page to see the whole thing at once. If I create a home “page,” they’ll go to an actual page, where I can add a link to the main first screen, but that’s two steps, where it could just be one click and get back to that original screen.
I want that main screen — justformykidsblog.wordpress.com — *AS* a “Home” option on the menu, not a “home” front page with a post on it.
Does this make sense the way I’ve described it?
Thanks for your help.

Hello –
Here’s my suggestion.
1. create a new page at My Sites < Pages < New and give it a “Home” title with a bit of text about you or the site. Even just add an image to the body of the page. Whatever feels right for your site.
2. Make “Home” page a static front page.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/3. Assign a different page for your published posts to be displayed on. This is called your “Blog” page.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#optional-create-a-blog-page4. Add the “Home” and “Blog” pages to the main menu.
Click on My Sites > Customize > Menu > Add Item > Home + Blog Pages
https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/The way it is setup now, the posts are publishing to the front page of the site. This is the default setting for any blog. I hope this is helpful. If you run in to any questions or trouble let me know and I can help out.
