I can't get the debut theme to run the hero slider.

    I have read the instructions on how to activate this feature. Going to Appearance, theme options, and then setting the hero slider. I click save, but when I return to my blog, nothing has changed. I even refresh the page, or log out of the whole browser and tried again. I even closed out the internet and walked away from my computer for hours, came back, nothing had changed. I tried again, it still didn’t work. Am I doing something wrong, or misunderstanding what the hero slider is? I want the home page of my blog to look similar to the example of the theme, and what I understand the hero slider to be is the banner that changes images across the top of the page. Am I wrong? Please help.

    Hi there, you’re right – the hero slider is the large slider on the homepage. I took a look at your site and the hero slider seems to be working normally – it actually looks quite lovely. :-)

    Did you manage to get this working or is there still something about the slider that’s not working the way you expect? If you give me a little more information about what’s not working correctly I’ll be glad to investigate further.

    Thank you Kathryn!

    I was so frustrated I stayed up until 3:00am last night digging into any information on the forums that I could. I found out that in order to enable the hero slider, you have to set your static “home” page to the home feature on the “page attributes” sidebar when you edit or create the page. As soon as I did this, the hero slider worked like a charm. Thank you for investigating and replying to my plea. Hopefully this dialog will help someone else in the future.

    I’m sorry it was such a frustrating process, but I’m glad you figured it out!
