i can't get to my blog

  • Unknown's avatar

Someone edited my domain details, and I can no longer access my site http://www.thecxarchitect.com. It takes me to a time warner search page. When I look my domain up, the ownership of the domain changed yesterday to wild west domains (I bought it through wordpress).

    Can you help?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Michael,

I’m sorry about this. I have contacted our registrar regarding this matter. They will be in touch shortly.

Can I please get an update? My blog is not available to viewers and I’m getting a lot of complaints.

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m sorry, but they haven’t responded to me yet. I’ll let you know once I hear back.

This is crazy – I should not have to wait so long to get assistance. Can you please escalate this to someone who has the authority to engage the registrar?

Hello! There’s nothing we can do until the registrar gets back to us. Thanks for your patience with this matter.

Please go ahead and cancel this domain. It’s worthless. This is the poorest customer service experience I’ve ever had.

I’m really very sorry about this. I’ve refunded your purchase for the trouble.

If you want to use this domain in the near future, we really should stick with the retrieval. If I cancel the domain fully, the registrar is not required to release it for re-registration.

I’ve passed along the delayed correspondence with our registrar to our store team. Hopefully they’ll have better luck getting a response.

I truly apologize. This is not the service we strive to offer.

I also noticed that you have a Premium theme (Profile) that’s still connected to a deleted site. Would you like me to transfer this purchased theme to one of your active sites?

I have other domain names I can use, so I’m not so concerned about thecxarchitect.com as I am about the fact that all of my social media points to that domain and it’s been inaccessible as I launched a new business. Please cancel the domain. The registrar should be ashamed of such poor responsiveness.

The only other active site I have is the wordpress.com site. The premium theme isn’t that important either, but you can move it to the wordpress sub site.

Thanks for the refund – I wasn’t expecting that.

Can someone explain to me what happened? How did someone get ahold of my site?

Alright. I’ve removed thecxarchitect.com from your account and restored your domain credit so you can utilize one of your other domains.

It looks like you cancelled a Premium trial on February 16 and then purchased the Premium plan on the 20th. The cancelation cancelled the domain though, which means it gets sent back to the registrar. There’s a grace period during which to domain still works, so you probably wouldn’t have noticed that it wasn’t actually registered anymore.

Once the grace period ended, the domain was removed from our account with the registrar, leading to the issue you reported in this thread.

I’ve transferred that theme for you also, just in case you do decide to use it again. :)

Well, since that wasn’t your fault, you can reverse the refund you gave me. I don’t want you guys paying for my mistake.

No worries! Use it to find the perfect theme! ;)
