I can’t like any WordPress blog when logged in
-
I’m logged into both my WordPress and Gravatar but I can’t like any WordPress blog. I’ve cleared cache and cookies and am using Chrome V 79.0.3945.117. I’ve been a user for almost a decade and have never had this issue previously.

Good Morning –
I can’t see anything from our end that would be preventing this. Can you send me a link to the post where the likes aren’t working?
-
Thank you for your response lizkarkoski. I can provide a location but the location doesn’t matter. I’ve also reset the browser to “out of the box” default values. You can see here I posted a comment but am not able to like this post and yet can like the authors response:

I am signed in to my WordPress.com account in my browser and opened up https://2loud2oldmusic.com/2020/01/12/my-sunday-song-you-speak-my-language-by-collective-soul/ in a different tab.
The
likebutton took a minute to load but I was able to engage the button and like the post.Does it work if you use a different browser? Safari or FireFox?

Hi lizkarkoski, I don’t have access to a different browser on this node. I did note that On_Click the like button I am seeing the sign in popup but it doesn’t resolve. I am also noting multiple instances of the following 403 not error related to the API in the console:
WebSocket connection to ‘wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data’ failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 403

Can you give more detail on what you mean by “I don’t have access to a different browser on this node.” What node are you referring to?
A 403 error means something is blocking the connection. If you’re on a company network, it’s possible requests to our API are being blocked on a network level. If that’s the case, you’ll need to contact your network admins for help.
I did note that On_Click the like button I am seeing the sign in popup but it doesn’t resolve.
If you’re logged into WordPress.com you should not be seeing any pop-ups when clicking the Like button. A pop-up would only appear if we think you’re logged out at the time you’re clicking it, as that pop-up contains a login form.
If you’re seeing that while already logged in, it could indicate something in the browser is blocking the cookie we set to detect that you’re logged into your account. Please make sure your browser allows third-party cookies, and if you have any browser extensions installed that might be blocking cookies, see if disabling those help.
