I cant log into my account

Hi! I cant log in to my account. I tried everything. changed password from panel admin but didnt work. I cant change my password though forgot my password either because mail function isn’t enabled and I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Plus even if i could give it a try i couldn’t because i cant login. Now if i want to delete and cancel my wordpress account to free my domain name I couldn’t because I cant login. I really really really need someone to get me out of this big deep doodoo.

Hi – Which site are you trying to access? It sounds like you are running a standalone WordPress installation rather than using WordPress.com. Share the URL with me here and I’ll get you pointed in the right direction for help.

Hi! Yes, I am sorry about the confusion. I did actually download wordpress and trying to run it through my own xampp server. I am trying to login via localhost but cannot remember my username/password combo. It got very overwhelming and have no idea where I messed up. I am not sure which URL you need. I apologize, I am not really a tech savy person.

You’re using the open source version of WordPress – it does not work the same as the version we use here on WordPress.com, and we can’t help you with this.
Please follow the instructions at https://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password, and ask in https://wordpress.org/support/ should you need any more help with this.
