I can't make more space for new media

    Hi there,

Since being made aware that I have no more space for uploaded photos, I have started using Flickr codes instead. But I still need to use uploaded images for my blog post’s ‘featured images’.

To make more room, I have significantly reduced the physical size of many images I have uploaded already and deleted some as well, however despite my efforts WordPress still will not let me upload anything new. What can I do to re-enable the uploader?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t. Changing the size of uploaded pictures and deleting them doesn’t reduce the size of the media library.

You have essentially only one option if you want to upload images as featured images: to buy the $99 upgrade bundle, which comes with the space upgrade.

You COULD change to a theme that doesn’t use featured images; that could cause problems with social shares, where your post doesn’t get a thumbnail.

    Hi Juliet,

By default, you can upload media upto 3GB for free on WordPress.com and then purchase one of the space upgrades.

This might help: Increasing your Storage Space

Do you get any error message when you try to upload new images?

Yes, like I said, you would have to buy the $99 upgrade bundle.
