I can't make my home page static, it doesn't appear as an option in the drop down box

    When I publish a blog, it comes up on my home page and not the blog tab. I’ve tried making my home page static, but when I do, the Home tab doesn’t come up as an option to select it. When I look in the menu sections, all my tabs come up as pages, but the home tab comes up as custom url. How do I get round this?
