I can't modify my main page and it's not showing up in Pages

  site:foodorigins.org I can’t modify my main page and it’s not showing up in Pages. Help!

  Pages and posts are not the same.

  The main page of every WordPress blog, which will display all posts (not pages) on it in reverse chronological order with the most recent published post on top by default is the front page of the blog. This is the front page of your blog http://gardenwithmoshi.wordpress.com/ and when you publish a post that where it will appear. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/

  This is a static page on your blog > http://gardenwithmoshi.wordpress.com/about/

  If you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site. If you wish, you can also create a “blog” page, but you do not have to if you do not want to.

  Choice 1 static front page.
  Choice 2 running page for all posts on front page.

  Which do you choose? It’s one or the other.
  If you choose Choice 1 static front page then you have to create two pages. One for the static front page which you can call anything you choose example “Welcome”, and one for the blog posts to appear on which you can call anything you choose example “Blog”. Adter your do that you go here . Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

  Thank you time thief this is very helpful. I would prefer to have my blog posts show up on my main page- choice 2. However, I am having trouble figuring how to get widgets onto this page and make other general changes to it. Where do I access the architecture of this page?

  I forgot to mention. I am working with food origins.org using the AutoFocus theme.

  All widgets on all blogs wearing all themes are found here > Appearance > Widgets
  When we choose a theme we see a default sidebar display but those aren’t actual widgets. You go where I indicated and install widgets of your choice and the default display disappears.

  You can use this main page to determine which widgets you may wish to use.

  Thanks again. I have gone through this process and the widgets I have chosen are showing up on all Pages, but not the main page/post page. I am wondering if there is a way to edit the appearance of the post page.

  I think I figured this out. It looks like Auto Focus doesn’t allow for widgets on the posts page. Bummer.

  That’s unusual. I don’t know another theme that does that; usually it’s the other way around.

  Yes, Autofocus displays the sidebar only on static pages.
