I can’t my site

  • Unknown's avatar

Years ago I opened my first wordpress blog at https://wordpress.com/home/goingyourownway.wordpress.com. I haven’t used that recently and would like to make it go away because when I try to publish to my more recent site I can’t reach it. That site is http://www.in-my-suitcase.com. Can you remove the older site and activate my current one for editing? Or tell me how to do that myself. Please and thank you!

The issue is that each site is reached via a different account and you are currently logged in to the wrong one. Log out of here and log back in with the correct username libbieg

Nearly a month ago we had the conversation shown above. It has done me no good at all. Can I talk to a wordpress employee who can remove the offending account? It is https://wordpress.com/home/goingyourownway.wordpress.com.

This is so frustrating. If someone would just make that account go away so I can use the account I pay for I will be very happy! None of the instructions given to me in the reply shown above work! Please help!

    Hi Libbie,

No one should really have to go through a situation like this. I have tagged this conversation so that a staff member could take a closer look and help you out accordingly.

In the meantime, thank you for your patience. Help should be here soon!

  • Hello Libbie,

    Help has arrived!

Let’s do this step by step…

    1. When you log into WordPress.com, can you see the site: goingyourownway.wordpress.com. ?

If yes, please see these steps on how to close this account: https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/

Once done, we can look at http://www.in-my-suitcase.com and the next steps for this site.

    Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for answering but I’m afraid of wiping out my 200+ posts on inmysuitcase.com Are you sure just deleting the unwanted site will NOT remove my entire account? The unwanted one was just posted as a free wordpress account. The one I want to keep is a an account I pay annually to post there.

Is there any backup of WordPress accounts anywhere?

Why can I not communicate with an employee of WordPress?

  • Hello Libbie,

    Just offer reassurance:

Thanks for answering but I’m afraid of wiping out my 200+ posts on inmysuitcase.com Are you sure just deleting the unwanted site will NOT remove my entire account? The unwanted one was just posted as a free wordpress account. The one I want to keep is a an account I pay annually to post there.

inmysuitcase.com is not connected to this particular WordPress account (goingyourownway).

To check, are you able to access the account connected to inmysuitcase.com?

Why can I not communicate with an employee of WordPress?
