I can't open the CSS stylesheets
-
Under CSS settings in customise CSS, I have been trying to open the link where it says “Open original stylesheet” – Nothing happens. I tried changing the theme from Skylark to Fresh&Clean because I thought it might be a glitch but it’s doing the same. The links next to it, where it says “more info” work – as well as other tabs on the page. I’ve tried copying and pasting the url in but it won’t be recognised.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Here is the link to the original stylesheet, but it has been compressed so it is not formatted and hard to follow.

This has been tagged for staff attention and hopefully someone will look into it and get that link fixed real soon.

Thanks for helping out, Thesacredpath – but your link doesn’t work either. I still can’t access any of the stylesheets. It’s very disconcerting that we still haven’t heard back about this.

@vanessastudio and callofthedusk
Will you please check here Store > My Upgrades and confirm whether or not that the custom design upgrade you purchased is appearing on that page? -
The one thing to remember is that you cannot EDIT the existing stylesheet. What you do is create rules that will override the existing styling and put those in the CSS edit window.
Try accessing the following three links and then let us know what happens on each of the links:

Timethief –
I bought the $99 package for one year. I noticed the CSS files opened the other day, but not since yesterday.Thesacredpath – Many thanks for that. I can now read your links using Firefox Mozilla, but there seems to have a problem with Explorer, which still won’t open those files. Thanks again.

It might be a security/firewall setting in Explorer that is causing it not to display the files. Good though that it is working for you in Firefox. And you are welcome.

I tested the original stylesheet link in a few browsers on my Mac, and it’s working for me without any trouble. Sounds like you guys are using Windows, so I’ll boot up Win7 to test that too. Looks like two people total reported this issue—could you guys confirm for me which browser/browser versions you’re using?

I use Win7 with explorer 9. I thought there might be a conflict between WordPress and explorer – This is problem that my previous website server (which used Flash) encountered. On this occasion I think it might be down to my internet/phone provider which suffers terrible download/upload speeds.

I’ve tested IE9 on Windows 7, and the original stylesheet link works for me. It opens in separate Notepad window for me every time though—and the code is minified even though that is set to false with a URL query string parameter. I’m not sure why IE doesn’t display CSS nicely. They really make it hard to work with CSS in that browser, heh.

I don’t see any recent activity on this thread, so I am going to mark it as resolved. If you’re still having trouble, please reply and set it to unresolved again or start a new thread.

One last thought, you said in your original post that nothing happens for you when you click the “Open original stylesheet” using Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9—however, it’s possible the file is opening but in the background. If you try it again, check your other open programs to see if the file was opened in a different application because of your computer settings (settings like that are customizable on an individual basis).
