I can’t post comments on my own site

  This morning while attempting to reply to comments, I noticed that none of my comments were posting. Then when I reattempted it, I got a message that said duplicate comment, but nothing appears on the site. now I’m worried that this might be a problem for the readers as well. Please help.

  have you checked if they weren’t sent to spam?

  it has been known to happen.

  You;re right. My comments were sent to spam. This has never happened to me before. Why would it do that?

  We got slammed with a lot of spam and sometimes Akismet tightens up too much when that happens. Sometimes certain words will do it, sometimes putting links in, and sometimes it’s the number of comments you’ve left. Just un-spam yourself and don’t comment on any other WP.com blogs until you see your own comments are going through on your own blog just fine. That means they’ll be fine on other blogs as well. It can take a few un-spammings to teach Akismet.
