I can't publish anything on my blog

    Hello,

    I am contacting you as I am trying to design my wordpress blog for the first time and I can’t seem to publish anything. I can only save it as a draft and it does not really display it ( I reckon it is because i have not received an email conformation email no matter how many times I request it to be resend). Can you please help me with this?

    Hello Natalie,
    Have you looked for the activation email in your spam filter? If you use Gmail or Google Apps, please have a look at this support page for assistance: https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/

    Did you use the correct email address? You can check it at account settings. If the email is incorrect, update it and click the Save Account Settings button. There’ll be a message saying that there’s a pending change. Check your inbox for the confirmation email and click the link within to verify your email address.

    If none of that works, add “modlook” to the tags for this thread to let WordPress.com staff know that you need assistance with this issue.

    @natalieitinov, thank you for reporting this issue. I have made an update to your account which I believe fixes the problem in your case. Can you please try publishing now and let me know if you’re still having any trouble?

    @micawbr, thank you for replying to some of these types of help requests! If you can tell that the user’s account was setup some time ago or if you can ask them (i.e. several months or a year), then they may be caught in a loop where they cannot activate and the emails are actually not getting sent. This problem doesn’t happen for everyone who is posting about similar circumstances, but it is happening to several people and I am trying to track down: when they originally signed up, how they signed up (i.e. via mobile app?? or through Gravatar.com or on WordPress.com directly), and whether or not they remember if they received an activation email at that time. If they have an old signup and are stuck with the “resend activation” prompt but never receive a new message, then they might be hitting a bug and need to have their account reviewed manually. If their account and blog are both brand new, then your reply above is perfect!
