I can’t see category on my blog.

I have mutiple categories with posts, but I can’t still can’t see them.
On customizing>Content option>Display categories is checked.
I also followed https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/
this but can’t find categories when I click add item(I think it’s changed into ‘create new menu’ now).
it seems like a stupid question but it will be much appreciated if you kindly help me.
my blog is on default skin now.

Hi,
The category that you’ve assigned to a post displays below the date in each case. Each post has either the “Review” or the “Silly Things” category assigned to it. Here’s the “Review” category page: https://ljuneaul.wordpress.com/category/review/.

Not so, “add item” and “create new menu” are not equivalent. Perhaps you can provide a screen shot to show us what you’re seeing when you attempt to add categories to your custom menu. Do you have a custom menu activated? Perhaps that’s the problem.
