I can't see Likes for media

    I can’t find the place any longer where my visitors can choose “Likes” for my single media
    (on the page in my Gallery everything is okay, though)
    and there is no “likes” to tick off on my media screen options although I’ve chosen Likes for media.
    I have changed that several times…Is that the problem now???
    I have already tried to solve the problem for long.
    So can you help me, please?

    Thanks for taking the pain!
    Yes, I know, the media in my gallery have got Likes !?
    But not the single images like

    Yes, in the meantime, I’ve tried hard to manage, to read all wordpress info about the topic once again and to control my settings …
    I’d be very happy if you can find out ..
    Everything was okay some weeks ago. Then I revised and changed and rechanged some settings to understand how they work. Was it too much for the system????

    Hi Petra,

    With the links you sent, ( http://pawlo.files.wordpress.com…), those are the actual image files. None of the “chrome” associated with WordPress.com is loaded, so it isn’t possible to like directly from the image files.

    Likely when you’re adding the images to a page, the option of where media links to may have changed from the Attachment Page to the original image file. That option is the #6 option as seen in this screenshot: http://en.support.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/image-settings1.png

    Does that help clear things up a bit?

    Hi again!

    Hi ,
    In my media file I can see the attachment page with the Likes button now!!!
    But how can visitors get to it??
    Unfortunately I haven’t found a page like yours with attachment details. The German pages seem to be similar but not the same .There are the pages “Bearbeiten” and “erweiterte Einstellungen” …
    Can you still help me ?? Or is there a German help somewhere, too ?

    We do have limited German support available at http://de.support.wordpress.com with forums at http://de.forums.wordpress.com

    I’m afraid my German is limited to “Guten Tag” and the German-speaking folks on the team are off for their night.

    The full support page, in English, on how to set that when inserting an image is at http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/ .

    For an image already inserted, the Link URL on the bottom of the basic settings (Bearbeiten) is where the user is taken to. Unfortunately, there’s not an easy way to reassign it to the Attachment page (where it can be Liked). It may be easier to delete the image, and re-insert it, being sure to set it to use the Attachment Page instead of the Media File.

    You have been successful, though!!!!

    I went to editing my last article again, chose an image from the media file, where I found the same page (or better:column) you had sent me before . So I could change “Link to attachment page” and there it is with a Like button!
    Hoping to see different screen options with Likes now, too.
