I can't see the different users in my WP Admin users panel
-
I have recently invited two new users as editors. They have accepted the invitation and have been able to access the site and edit content. However I can’t see their names in my list of users. I have tried clearing my cache and contents etc as suggested in one forum but that doesn’t do anything.
One of the reasons I want to do this is so that I can assign different posts to different authors and I understand I can do this by just clicking on the Author field underneath where I enter content?
Thanks

I see two invited editors in your site, but no accepted editor invites. I also don’t see any users on the site other than you. If you confirm the usernames of the users you’d like to be editors, I can add them for you manually.

Are these people you know in real life? Is it possible they were actually logged in as you rather than as themselves when they edited the page? If not, please let me know. I don’t see any evidence on your site of other users, but if you let me know what changes they made, I’d like to investigate further.

Once we get everyone added as real users you’ll be able to do this :)

Yes, this is what I see. One of these users is my own personal email address that is different to the one I used to log in to WP. So I sent myself the invite and added myself. The reason for this is my gravatar shows my friend and myself. But I want us each to have separate author profiles so we can mark our own work as authored by ourselves, if that makes sense?
The other person is a friend – I don’t think she logged in as me – wouldn’t that have meant using my username and password. She was not asked for a username and/or password.
Thanks

That makes perfect sense. I’ve added your friend as a user to the site. She can log in with her account now and update the site. In order to add the “other” you, you’ll first need to create a new WordPress.com account with that email address. If you log out of your current account and then click the link below you can create the new account from there

If she wasn’t asked for a username and password, that means someone was already logged into the computer she was using. Have you ever used that computer to access the dawnandrachel account?

Thanks – but the email address IS from my other wordpress account. So I logged out of mealsourkidslove.com. When I click on accept invite it brings me to a login page – do I log in to my other account or mealsourkidslove.com?
It may be that she did already use the password to access it – so I will ask her to log out and accept the invitation again. What will she see when she clicks on Accept Invitation? Will she need to create a WordPress id or does this mean only people who already have wordpress accounts already set up can be users? very confusing – i thought it was as simple as sending an email!
Thank you for your help so far – much appreciated :-)

I was assuming that you were Rachel and the email address not connected to an existing WordPress.com account belonged to you. But perhaps I got that backwards and you are Dawn.
If that’s the case, send Rachel this link and have her create a WordPress.com account using the email address you used to invite her to the site.
https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1
Once she does that I can add her to the site. Both of your accounts are already connected.
If I still have the who is who wrong, let me know and I’ll move this conversation to a private email where we won’t need to be vague about usernames and email addresses.
