I cant seem to edit the Balasana theme…

  im new to WordPress, im trying to use Balasana these as a base for my site, no matter what I do, following instructions etc, I can seem to edit some elements, how can I edit things that appear no-editable? obviously the themes wording/images etc doesn’t fit with mine, im perplexed as to why I cant edit certain things while other themes allow me to. am I missing something simple?
