I can't seem to make a new blog

I click on Create Another Blog. When I put in the Blog Address it goes through the check process but never seems to stop checking if the blog is eligible.
Please help with this issue.

I am using a Windows 7 PC Computer and also a Windows 7 laptop. I’m working with FireFox which is the most up-to-date version 29.0.1. I have cleared my cache and history but still seem to be having trouble with the Create Another Blog page.
I did create a work around. I signed up as a new user and then invited myself to be an admin. This seems to have worked.
However, the Create Another Blog process is something I’ve been working on all day and it just continually tells me it is checking the domain name. Signing up as a new user quickly told me the blog was available.

Usually when it never stops “checking” that’s because the blog already exists. You can check this yourself by putting the address http://whatever.wordpress.com in your URL bar.

Yes, I checked and it wasn’t already a blog. Plus when I signed up as a new user to work around this issue I was able to get that very blog, so it was always available.

Oh, well there’s your problem; the site is apparently “reserved” for you. What is the URL? Staff can sort this out once you post the desired URL and add the “modlook” tag to the sidebar.

Why was it reserved for me? I spent all day trying to “Create Another Blog” only to give up and pretend to be someone else just to get the blog I wanted to begin with.
I added myself as an admin.
What is this modlook thing?

Why was it reserved for me?
When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account.

How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question?

I’m sorry for the trouble you had creating that new blog. Do you happen to have any add-ons in your Firefox browser?
I just tried to reproduce the problem in Firefox 29.0.1. I went to the My Blogs page, clicked on Create Another Blog, and entered a new blog address, but the check process for the address finished up quickly. It’s possible that something like a browser add-on was interfering — if it continues to be a problem for you I’d be happy to keep investigating.

It is possible it was an addon but since I’ve already managed to create the blog I don’t know.
Right now I would just say, since I’ve managed the blog we can just forget it until the issues arises again.
