i can’t seem to post

I need help and support is closed. I write a post, then click publish and nothing happens – it actually doesn’t log my post and I haven’t been able to post anything since November of last year. It seems to be a glitch – does anybody else have trouble with this?

I don’t recall any issues like that in the last two months. Can you give us more information like your OS, browser, versions, any firewall, etc? Really need more information to go on. It’s strange that you were able to post here though…

I use windows explorer, i think i’ve got the latest microsoft version. the thing is, up until november, it was working. then no longer. anytime i’ve tried to post anything, it goes to a screen that says, “are you sure you want to edit this post?” and then nothing happens whether i answer yes or no – it just goes right back to the write a post screen as if i never wrote anything at all.

Yes, it’s come up, although I’m too lazy to look for the threads on the subject.
Send a Feedback, but until they get on it here’s a workaround:
Once you’ve written the post, select all the text (I use Control A) and copy it (I use Control C). Then, WHILE IT IS STILL HIGHLIGHTED, click Publish. Then you don’t get the warning and it all goes through just fine.

Not strictly the same subject – but when i post I don’t get the EDITOR screen so I can’t put photos and links in. Any advice?

I appear to have the same problem, except it happened about 6 hours ago. I can’t post new pieces or edit old ones, neither on Safari nor Firefox.
However, I am able to post and edit new photos that I’d forward from my Flickr account. Is this a temporary glitch or something?

Yes I have. All the buttons are intact and useable (both in Safari and Firefox). I just can’t do new posts or edit old ones. I get diverted to the mainpage of WordPress.com.

The FAQ also mentions doing a forced reload of the page. You may want to try that.
Which editor are you using in an attempt to write? I wonder if switching would help. You can switch between editors at Dashboard -> Users -> Your profile -> the checkbox near the top of the page.

You’re right! I did the forced reload and re-saved it again.
I was earlier concentrating on the availability of the buttons.

Not a problem. It’s happened before that if an upgrade is made, things some times get stuck like that.

Can I take back my earlier enthused response (but still leaving the TQ bits intact.
It reloaded and I managed to save it. But I found out just now that it saved the old copy, not the edited post. So it appears that it will save old copies, but not put up new edited ones.
I tried a new post – again with the reloading – but it’s sending me back to WordPress.com main page. It’s kinda back to Sq One.
As for your question in editors:- There’s only one generic editor for my Safari (Code). There’s two for Firefox – one Code, one Rich Text. I’ve tried all, but they didn’t work. -
Um, actually you’re looking at the Rich Text editor. (It doesn’t work well with Safari) Try switching to the regular editor (it’s just a basic text editor) as I mention above and see if that helps.

I’ve tried the basic text editor on Firefox. I’m still being diverted to WordPress mainpage.
