I can't select an image to be a feature image for blog posts
-
Hi,
I want to display images on the front of my blog, however when I select a feature image as per instructions, there is no option in the popup window to add the image as a feature image, nor does it automatically add the image as a feature image.
Thanks,
Caroline.

Can you walk me through exactly what you were doing to add a featured image, and where it went wrong?
Make sure that you use the “Set Featured Image” link, in the Featured Image module on the Edit screen: http://cl.ly/1s3Y2K3w071j0Y251r16
By default, you should be able to find this module on the bottom right.
See here for more information about featured images:

Hi,
Yes, I have tried to use this feature on the bottom right side of the page. At the moment one cannot select a feature image from a URL although the popup window allows you to select a URL – this is misleading.
I’ve had a further play with ‘featured image’ and released you can only add a featured image by uploading an image.
A better design would be to allow featured images to be added by URL.

Featured images are often cropped and resized, depending from the theme, and to do this type of tasks, a local file is necessary.
Linking images from URLs is generally not the best solution anyway, as if for any reason the image is removed from its original location, you will end with a broken link on your site.
