I can’t transfer domain.

    Hi, I’m receiving a message from wordpress that I can’t transfer jcarlbrown.com because there’s a transfer lock at the registry, but I’ve removed that lock. It’s still giving me that same error message. Any idea what’s going on? Thanks for your time. – Jason

    Hey there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    If that’s the message being received, you would need to double check with Google Domains, that domain is in fact unlocked.

    That said, it can take up to 5 days to transfer a domain… have you considered connecting the domain instead? Which can take up to 72 hours (if not sooner).

    This is where the name servers of the domain, are changed to:

    ns1.wordpress.com
    ns2.wordpress.com
    ns3.wordpress.com

    And then added here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

    To note, in order to set a custom primary domain – the site would need to be on a paid plan, at a minimum the personal plan:
