I can’t upload a .html file

    I found these instructions, but they don’t work for me. I get an error saying it isn’t a supported file type
    Navigate to your Admin Dashboard.
    Click ‘Pages’ in the left sidebar.
    Choose an existing page or create a new one.
    Click ‘Add Block.’
    Add a ‘File’ block.
    Choose your HTML file.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    You are likely running into this error because WordPress.com does not allow users to update/edit the source code for their themes.

    WordPress.com comes with many ready-to-go themes and is intended for users who do not have coding experience. WordPress.com users do not have access to the code or template files underlying the themes on WordPress.com hosted blogs and cannot edit them.

    If you are needing/trying to upload an HTML file, I would suggest looking into creating a self-hosted site using WordPress.org software, as opposed to using WordPress.com. A WordPress.org website allows for much more flexibility and options when it comes to customizing your website and editing the code for your site directly.     I see you have upgraded to our Pro Plan. One thing to be aware of is that while we do not offer the ability to edit source code on our free sites, your upgraded site does make this possible.

    However, with that said I’m still not exactly sure what you are trying to set up. Can you tell us more about it? Are you trying to add an HTML embed code of some kind? What is the code supposed to add to your site?
