I can't upload genesis theme, please help me

I have purchased the Genesis framework after reading several pages on the net that it is the best framework to use on a wordpress site. I now wish to install the framework and theme on my exisitng wordpress blog however I do not have the ‘install theme’ or ‘update theme’ tab in appearance>theme
Can someone please help me I’m new to the blogging world

We can help you by saving you some time: that information is at least a year out of date, and it does not apply to your blog anyway. http://emurnaneblog.wordpress.com/ is a WordPress.com blog, not a wordpress.ORG blog, and you cannot install themes from outside sources on a WordPress.com blog. You can only use the themes on the dashboard Themes page.

I really like the genesis framework and the theme layout I purchased, do you support starting a new blog as a wordpress.org? I haven’t been blogging for long and won’t loose much work

No, as I said the enthusiasm for Genesis is over a year out of date. It’s been replaced by newer themes. And I cannot imagine why you’d take on $120 a year in hosting costs plus domain costs, plus all technical support, simply in order to have a theme. If you want, you can do it. But the logic of doing it just for that theme escapes me. The reason there was so much hoopla over the theme is that the theme designers gave bloggers affiliate codes, so if someone clicked through and bought the theme, the bloggers got money. THAT is why there are so many blog posts about it.

Themes can’t be uploaded to blogs hosted on WordPress.com. They can only be uploaded to self-hosted blogs running on WordPress.org software. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:
