I can’t write POEMS!

Hi,
i’ve been having trouble writing a blog entry in the form of poems…
it sucks because whenever i tried to write a poem, the words/sentences will all be joined together like i’m writing a normal paragraph instead of a poem. the ‘ENTER’ button doesnt seem to work at all in wordpress!for e.g :
i tried to write up a list of ways to live your life, and it came out like thisi could think of a couple of ways to LIVE FOR THE MOMENT:1- forgive those you thought you’d never forgive, and talk to them2- be spontaneous and try new things (for e.g i wanted to ride the banana boat and we actually went to do so last weekend!..onehellafun i tell u!!) 3- dont just miss your loved ones, do something about it, give them a call or text..let them know u’re thinking of them 4- forget revenge…it’s too bitter, energy consuming and bad for health.. 5- stop saying I CAN’T..or I’M AFRAID…believe in yourself and GO FOR IT!

1) please give us a direct link to your blog, starting with http so we can click to see it
2) please let us know which browser and version you are using
3) please do a search of the forum for “paragraph breaks” and see if any of the numerous threads on the issue have already answered your question. -
If you’re using the Visual Editor to type your entries, try hitting Shift-Enter at the end of each line.

There a bug when using Safari with the visual editor – your only options are to use another browser, like Firefox (which is good anyway) or don’t use the visual editor.

You can’t put code in the Visual editor; you need to click the tab to get to the Code editor. But derivadow nailed it; Safari and WordPress.com don’t work well together and you’ll do much better using any other browser.

so i have to either switch browser or switch domain.thanks

WordPress isn’t too consistent with Safari and I’ve done a lot of testing with it. One time it keeps the formatting and one time it will not.
The new version of TinyMCE editor WordPress uses, which will be I suspect in the next big round of upgrades here at .com is compatible with Safari 3 (Mac OS X 10.4.11 or newer) so it will be compatible in the near future, just not now.

For the moment you may also try to use lists instead of carriage returns to format your lists.
Numbered lists are hidden behind button #5 in the visual editor (please see here: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/ for icon numbering).
