I changed my menu to categories and lost my posts

I had a regular menu that included several pages and had a lot of different things posted on each page. I realized I needed to change the menu to categories to do what I wanted it to do but now all of the posts that I had in each page are lost. Is there a way to find those and post them in these category pages now?
