I changed my subdirectory name via ftp and now my site is broken!
-
Ok total noob here, I tried installing WordPress on my own hosting site a few days ago. Then I installed a custom theme and did up all my content. Thing is all my content was in the /public_html/ directory called ‘example_test’. I was unaware that there also another folder created called ‘example.com’ which was in my main directory which I’m guessing is the core WordPress folder?
I then changed the directory name of ‘example_test’ to just ‘example’ via FTP because I was going to point my domain to this folder… (in my ignorance I thought it would be that simple!) That was went everything just broke. Now I can’t even access the WordPress admin panel. Tried changing the settings in the ‘wp-config.php’ file but best I could get work was I could log in again to the WordPress admin panel but it’s like a new account. All my content and theme is gone! HELP?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @subaiku,
You seem to be in the wrong forum. These forums are for WordPress.com hosted sites only.
For self-hosted sites you need to seek help at these forums:https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
If you want to know more about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org you can read this document:
