I changed my user name and lost my previous site

    Another question. When I click on my home page it directs me to the old site. How do I change this?

    The instructions and warnings are not written in any technical language. They also appear on this support page along with a video that illustrates the entire process:

    Change Your Username

    The old address will still come up in search results for some time, until search engines finish indexing your site at the new address. The only option is to wait for the information to update with the various search engines, and then the new address should start coming up in search results instead.

    Regarding the Home link in your menu, that’s because you have a custom menu set and a custom link for the Home page. Click on My Sites, then click the Customize button next to Themes. Click on Menus and select the menu that appears there.

    Click the Home item and delete it. Next click on Add Item ->Pages and select the Home item there. Click Save, and the menu should be updated on your site.

    Thanks, I’m glad my old posts will be updated with my new address. Phew, what a relief :-)

    So I take it that my followers will also not be affected? That I can write posts and go on as per normal?

    I fixed my home page :-) happiness :-)

    Your followers, stats and all your settings are on the new address, yes. Changing the address moves everything over, so your followers might not even notice the address has changed unless they check their browser address bar for your site.
