I changed username and lost control of my blog!
-
Hi, under my account ilvagabondo I used to have two blogs: ilvagabondo.wordpress.com (say blog 1) and angolinoweb.wordpress.com (say blog 2)
I got a domain name which I wanted to map to blog 2 (say xyz.org) and I changed my username to XYZ to make everything consistent.
Now with this new username I can only manage blog 1 and have lost control over blog 2! I need it back. In fact, I care more about blog 2 rather than blog 1!
Please help.
Blog url: http://angolinoweb.wordpress.com -
http://angolinoweb.wordpress.com/ does appear to be under your aidubai user. Can you please try clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?

ilvagabondo.wordpress.com was also under this account, but you appear to have deleted it.

Today everything appears back after logging in with the new username…
Anyway, I fell into a new issue. I have my domain with godaddy (www.aidubai.org) and I want to map one of my blogs to it. I go to the “domain” menu, I enter the new domain.
It first says the domain exists, I click on “yes, it’s mine, proceed” and then strips the www away. I don’t want http://aidubai.org but I want to keep www.
Suggestions? Thanks. -
We actually strip out the www. for convenience and http://www.aidubai.org will redirect to aidubai.org once you finish mapping it.
www is an old protocol from back when everything was under a separate server. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.
These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.
Please let us know if you have any more questions!
