I click into blog post to type and page jumps up…
-
…as I type it keeps jumping up a line or two at a time until I can type and see nothing in the field. As well, underneath the white field where I type the post the word count used to be just a line or two under but now I must scroll down and down past the blog area to get to it.
I am using WP version 4.1
The theme of the blog is Purple Modena
http://www.sassychristianwomen.comIt SEEMS like this problem occurred just since the new version of WP update a couple weeks ago…
It does it on any post I try to create or edit, i.e. not just one. As well, I’ve tried it in Google and IE – didn’t make a difference.
Any help would be deeply appreciated…
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I suspect this is a browser issue. What browser are you using, and have upgraded to a newer version recently?
-
Does the cursor jump? If so, see the Google search results on the keyword phrase “cursor jumps while typing.”
-
Oh! Thank you SO MUCH for being here to dialogue on this… I’ve been trying and trying to work with it… The cursor does NOT jump – just the page itself as if I click and instead it reads it as I’ve pushed the return button but then it does it more than one line at a time…
Browser is IE 11. And I apologize in advance to tell you I am not well-versed in much technical… I am a writer and definitely have a challenged learning curve with IT. So, truly, I do appreciate any help you’re willing to offer. :D

I recall hearing complaints of this sort back in July-August of this year following the major post editor modifications of late July. If you care to wade through the 15 pages of the forum thread “Removing the scrollbar from the post editor one of the worst “improvements” yet” you might find some pertinent posts. Sorry, but I don’t know what else to suggest at the moment.
-
Forgot to link that forum topic: “Removing the scrollbar from the post editor one of the worst “improvements.”
-
Aaaaw… Thanks so much! I will likely wade through at least some of it this weekend to see if I can rectify. I’m out for now but again, thank you, and if I find a specific thing that fixes I’ll post so you’ll have the info to “bank”. :D Merry, Merry and Happy, Happy!
-
If an alternate browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome (recent versions) does not present with the same issue, then you’ve narrowed down the search for a causative factor considerably.
Best wishes to you and yours, my dear.

Ugh…so I’ve scanned, uninstalled, reinstalled, restored, rebooted, tried different browsers – all current versions of everything. gone through every add-on and deleted or disabled. The only thing I’ve accomplished is to clarify exactly what happens when I’m creating or editing a blog post with/in – Theme: Purple Modena; WP 4.1; at: http://www.sassychristianwomen.com .
The clarifying process was to realize that in addition to when I left click in the white, boxed work field the page also moves up a line (or two) when I push the space bar, back space button, or even the update button. The cursor goes with it and remains in the correct spot when I scroll up to bring content back down into view. So in a short time I am typing blindly as the field is up above and all I see is the light purple field below the post which is now LONG to get to the bottom of the “page” where I can see the word count and other info.
I also logged into the site from a different computer and it does the same thing. So, I’m terrified that the only “fix” is to completely uninstall WP and the site and reinstall. Terrified because, although I’ve “exported” the site to my computer I haven’t a clue that it would import back the way it is now and I don’t know that I could even duplicate the site as – like a fool – I didn’t put each blog somewhere else (like I should’ve done them in Word; copied and pasted into blog?).
ANY advice I am genuinely grateful for!

Oh for Pete’s sake. Please ignore what I posted and what musicdoc1 posted above.
I made the classic failing to read error of assuming your blog was actually hosted here when it isn’t.
I am using WP version 4.1
The theme of the blog is Purple Modena
http://www.sassychristianwomen.comThat site is NOT hosted by wordpress.COM and our support docs do not apply to it so be clear on that. We cannot help you as we do not provide support for any blogs that are not hosted by WordPress.COM.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support forums. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the Theme support forums there.

To be clear musicdoc1 and I both failed to read what you provided.
There is no domain mapping upgrade for sassychristianwomen.com as verified here http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-helper/sassychristianwomen.com is hosted by GoDaddy.com
whoisName Servers:
ns26.domaincontrol.com
ns25.domaincontrol.comThat is a WordPress.ORG software install. We do not provide support for it here at all. So sorry for any inconvenience. I DO have WP.org user/account and was logged into it last night when I started all this…I failed to realize I’d logged in here while surfing for solutions in forums. Again, sorry for inconvenience and thanks for time!!

It was the two of us who went astray and it was your time that was wasted. Best wishes with your install. :)
