i click on the notifications icon and nothing happens

Up until recently, I would click on the button (orange, w/white star in it) and see whatever the notifications were. these past two or three days (maybe longer?) the orange square is, orange, and lit up and i click on it and nothing happens
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you try clearing your cache and cookies:
Is this happening in every browser on your computer? Can you tell me what version of your browser you’re using?
-
I still can’t. my computer at work is somewhat reluctant to “do” anything in/on WP (could be safeguards by the employer’s I T) — and my home computer seems to be getting more and more limited in what i used to be able to do.
i can’t open up nor view NOTIFICATIONs and also of the two “Stats” tabs — the more in-depth one (you can view visitor’s country of origin) — I can’t open that up either -
I do see that you’re using Internet Explorer 9, which is an older version that we no longer directly support. However, I believe this notification page should still work for you:
http://wordpress.com/notifications
And you should be able to still use the WP Admin dashboard to access your stats:
https://betunada.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats
Do those work for you?
-
the first one (….notifications) worked fine. like i was used to — seemed even better! will i see THAT when i click on the orange square in the future?
now, the second (…page=stats) is what i am presently seeing. there used to be another STATS tab which slow VISITORS, VISITS — and country of origin. i haven’t been able to see THAT in about two weeks. -
Okay! Those are the old links. So it’s good to know you can still see those. Here are the newer links. Let me know if you can see these ones okay:
-
whatever you just sent is good. thanx.
the first (as before) is what i was used to — yeah, us internet-dinosaurs and the resistance to ‘change’ —
and the second was viewing stats in a format/lay-out i hadn’t seen before — AND (!) i could click and go to the way i was used to (the direct link did NOT have countries of origin, etc.) — the link to what i was used to is … well, what i’d like to continue to be able to access.
so am i now permanently (as “permanent” as anything can be in/on the internet) linked/hooked-up to those two links? -
We are still making changes, so nothing is set is stone. But there are currently no plans to remove the older stats page that you like.
Let me know if you have more questions about this.

Hi there,
Aside from the other stats page Shawna mentioned before, there’s also an older stats page that you can get to from here:
After you select a site there, you can scroll to the very bottom of the stats and click the button “Visit the old stats page” to get to the old version of that page. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

the notifications link: for a couple days i could ‘go’ and view notifications, like i used to be able to a month ago. now, and recently, i go to a blank page. nada. hmmmm
-
Could you try another browser just for comparison? It looks like you’re currently on IE9. If you could try the latest version of Chrome or Firefox, that would help to narrow down the notification issue!
-
thanx Jeremey: at work i cannot change the browser as the employer is, as expected, somewhat vigilant and intolerant about changes. however, at home … i suppose i go to something like “my computer” or control panel? or … it should be somewhat easy to find and do?
-
I definitely understand! You could install Chrome by following the instructions here:
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95346?hl=en
However, I believe we should be able to support IE9. Let me do some more digging. Can you visit the following site just to confirm your browser/operating system?
http://www.whatismybrowser.com/
Once you visit that site, just copy and paste what it says at the top under “Your web browser is.”
