I connected shopify to my blog and it deleted ALL of my content without warning.

  To clarify more – I was going to save money by having a shop within my current WordPress hosted site, with another name. However, I connected without thinking that it would erase everything. Now WordPress has no history of me being a customer and I think my subscription was canceled. I really need help.

  That domain hasn’t been connected to WordPress.com in the past. It sounds like you might have used WordPress.org software on another host. Do you remember using a hosting company other than WordPress.com?

  I’m hosted through GoDaddy.com, but I most definitely had WordPress software.

  WordPress software is different than WordPress.com hosting. We get this a lot! Your content is still going to be at your host, and it’s not managed here. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are a little separate, and that can be confusing.

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  You’ll want to use the forums at https://wordpress.org/support/ for any support on managing your installation of the software on another host. GoDaddy might have temporary domain to use, or you might point a subdomain back there to see the site contents. Hope that helps to point you in the right direction!
