I could customize my site earlier…how come I can't now?

    Why can’t I customize my site anymore? I started creating this earlier this afternoon and now I can’t customize it without the site trying to charge me to upgrade. Even themes I used this morning that it let me customize for free, it won’t let me even use those themes again without trying to charge me. I am trying to get colors to different themes and was able to earlier….but not anymore :(

    I am having the same problem too. The customize page won’t even load even when I leave the page open for a very long time.

    i havent been able to change a thing on my blog in days and no one will respond to my posts. It wont even let me change my theme.

    I previously posted for help on making changes to my theme which went unanswered so there is where my frustration was. I am unable to make any changes to my theme and when trying to post a new blog article, it doesnt get posted.
    My blog is a wordpress.com site (that is where i go to log in-etc.) but I did port my .com over from Go Daddy – so I am a bit confused between the wordpress.com / wordpress.org comment. I am sorry if i sound daft, but its just been really hard to navigate thru this.

    I would appreciate any help as I just feel lost at this point. I have tried to read some other articles from other posts and havent found any answers.

    @luna – your WordPress.COM lunabirdshoppe.wordpress.com site crashes at http://lunabirdshoppe.com/ – I do see you have Domain Mapping in place that seems to be set correctly for lunabirdshoppe.com

    Do you have any domain forwarding in place other than the Domain Mapping here? What did you do when you “did port my .com over from Go Daddy”? – did you change anything other than Name Servers?

    You are in the correct forum it looks like – but for CSS help – it is really nice if people can actually see your site – I will flag this for the staff – maybe they can see why your blog is not being displayed

    I can’t customize it without the site trying to charge me to upgrade.

    There are some areas inside the customize section that are paid upgrades: colors, fonts, and CSS. You should be able to preview those options even if you haven’t purchase the upgrade, but you should not have been able to apply those settings to a blog front end in the past if you had not purchased the upgrade.

    The other free customize features like setting a header image, updating the site title, etc. should be working normally—are those the things you were having trouble with or was it just the Custom Colors feature you were trying to use?

    Do you know if those were premium themes? Do you remember any of the specific theme names?

    @gweairbdoy, try using the snapshots button to save different versions of the settings so you can come back to them later without having to leave the window open so long.

    Looks like you received help with your domain and theme issues within 24 hours of your post at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/theme-issues-6 You’re in good hands! And I would recommend sticking to that other thread to see the issue through over there.

    When I try and change the appearance of my blog the design tools never load. This also happens when I am previewing or changing the theme of my blog. I don’t know why this is happening.

    @gweairbdoy, you do need to have at least one post post or page published as the home page so there is content to preview. Does your blog front page say anything like “not found”? If so, try reviewing this help page and let me know if that doesn’t fix the problem with the previews for you:
