    Hi there,

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all.

    Do you want to use the domain here on WordPress.com, or somewhere else?

    If you want to use it here, please create a new site and upgrade to a paid plan. Let us know once you’ve done that, and we can restore the domain. We can also still undelete your pradyumsoni.wordpress.com site that you deleted, if you want to use the domain with that site. Let us know if that’s the case.

    If you want to use the domain somewhere else, the simplest option is to wait. In this case your domain should be available again by the weekend, at which point you can register it directly where you want to use it.

    Else we can also send you a link to pay for the domain again, and restore the domain once we’ve received payment. But note you will only be able to transfer the domain away from us once you’ve owned it for at least 60 days.

    Hello,

    Thank you for the amazingly fast response first of all.

    I would like to use the domain elsewhere.

    So, please do this, “In this case your domain should be available again by the weekend, at which point you can register it directly where you want to use it.”

    Reason being: Themes not to my liking in professional plan, no SSL security. When I used the domain name, “not secure” was showing on my web browser.

    In that case, you just need to wait for the domain to be released. No need to do anything else.

    Just to clarify this – all domains registered with WordPress.com have our SSL. However, because we automatically provision SSL certificates that are shared by multiple customer domains, it may take up to 72 hours to add an SSL certificate to your site.
